Jackson 4-H Policies-Phones, Electronics & Food
Jackson County 4-H Policies on Cell Phones,
Electronics & Food
In addition to the 4-H Code of Conduct, there are some additional policies in effect for the Jackson County 4-H Program. 4-H is an inclusive program and sometimes cell phones, electronic games, and personal snacks can set up an atmosphere that feels exclusive. Just like in a meeting for adults, or in a movie theater, the use of cell phones can be distracting during a 4-H activity.
1. Youth participating in 4-H activities will not be permitted to use cell phones. This includes text messaging, music, internet, photographs, etc. The 4-H Agent will keep a cell phone with her during all 4-H activities. You can call the Extension Office at 828.586.4009. Youth may use their cell phones at the end of an activity in order to contact adults for pickup.
2. Electronic equipment, MP3 players, Ipods, phones, electronic games, etc. will not be permitted at 4-H activities. These items are not permitted in the vans or other transportation provided by 4-H.
3. Please do not bring, or purchase snacks, candy, sodas, or gum while participating in 4-H activities. Snacks are always provided.
